SoCal Birding is a grassroots community that connects birders across Southern California (San Diego, Orange, Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, Kern, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties). Our goal is to make birding communal, accessible, and healing by bringing people together who share the love of birds and the natural world.
We believe community is essential to appreciating the natural world. Connecting with local birders facilitates learning, positive birding experiences, improved mental health, a deeper connection with wildlife, and creating change. We value accessibility, ethical birding, respect for wildlife, inclusivity, and collaboration. Our goal is to create a welcoming space for birders of all experience levels.
